About Us

Philosophy of Life

Youth is not a time of life - it is a state of mind. Nobody grows old by merely living a number of years. Years wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul. Worry, doubt, self-distrust, fear, and despair - these are the long, long years that bow the head and turn the growing spirit back to dust. Whether sixteen or seventy, there is in every being's heart the love of wonder, the sweet amazement at the stars and starlike things and thoughts, the undaunted challenge of events, the unfailing childlike appetite for what's next, and the joy of the game of life.

Purpose

To broaden acquaintanceship among retired men and also renew some old ones. To plan and to take part in such civic, social, and other activities that give the members a sense of well-being.

Concept

The idea of the club for retired Haddonfield men was conceived by Wallace J. Ross. He obtained the interest of the Borough Commissioners who encouraged the formation of the Club by passing a resolution on January 18, 1955 that permitted the Club to use the Borough's polling place at 110 Rhoads Avenue. The Haddonfield 65 Club was incorporated on March 11, 1955. There were 38 charter
 members.

Retired Men are Invited to Free Coffee and Conversation.

Retired professionals need to network with one another to create new connections. One networking
method is the coffee and conversation gathering at the Haddonfield 65 Club.
Discussions are informal about current events, sports, hobbies, and whatever comes to mind. Also, it will get you out of the house for a few hours.
The 65 Club Coffee and Conversation meets on Tuesday mornings, from 10am to noon at the 65 Clubhouse, 110 Rhodes Avenue. Come and join us. It is a free and all-male fellowship.
For additional information, call Jack Lardis at 203-510-5465.
